GTX line

Introduction

Castrol GTX is one of the world's most trusted engine oils. It's more than just oil. It's Liquid Engineering that protects against problems that engines face every day, like high temperature and wear. Why is this protection important? Because the high temperatures caused by stop-start driving reduce the ability of ordinary oils to protect against wear, thus decreasing engine life.

Features & Benefits

Castrol GTX Provides Superior Engine Protection.

Tested against the toughest European ACEA standarts Castrol GTX gave 50% better high-temperature wear protection than the limits set by European car manufacturers.

High engine temperatures can lead to oxidation and breakdown of the oil. When subjected to the most rigorous testing at 155°C, GTX shows superior viscosity control and protection against thermal breakdown.

Castrol GTX Protects Against Sludge.

A common feature of today's stop-start driving is the build up of harmful sludge in your engine. Sludge can block oil-ways and filters preventing the smooth flow of oil to critical engine parts. Castrol GTX is made from premium quality base oils to cool, clean and protect, passing the toughest industry test for protection against sludge.

Application

  • Suitable for use in cars more than 4 years old.
  • Tested and approved to European Automobile Association (ACEA) and American Petrolum Institute (API) specifications.
  • Approved to Volkswagen and Mercedes Benz specifications for both gasoline and diesel engines (10W-40 and 15W-40 only.
